Who we are

A youth shotgun team built on safety, discipline, and a whole lot of broken clay.

We shoot out of a home range in Lexington and compete in SCTP, SCYSF and SCDNR. Shooters range from 4th grade through 12th, from first-time rookies to squads heading to Southeast Regionals.

Club membership is $40 per month and covers the cost of clays and range upkeep. Shooters are responsible for providing their own guns, eye protection, and ear protection.

What we do

Three disciplines. Three leagues.

Skeet

Two houses — a high house and a low house — throw clays on fixed, crossing paths. Squads work through eight stations set in a half circle, shooting singles and doubles at each. The flight path never changes, so skeet rewards consistent hold points, gun mount and timing.

Trap

A single machine out front throws targets away from the shooter at varying left-and-right angles. Five shooters rotate through five stations, 25 targets to a round. It's a going-away game: quick reads, a smooth swing and follow-through on a rising bird.

Sporting Clays

Often called golf with a shotgun. Shooters walk a course of stations through woods and fields, each with a different presentation — crossers, quartering birds, rabbits bouncing along the ground, teal climbing straight up. Every station has to be read before the first shot.

2025–26 season

Twenty-one podium appearances.

Our shooters reached the podium twenty-one times last season across SCTP, SCYSF and SCDNR — skeet, trap and sporting clays, as individuals and as squads, from rookies through senior varsity.
